Knebworth House Christmas Fair

A quick check on the week-end weather forecast revealed that Saturday was going to be a cloudy and cold day. Looking for something to do with the kids which did not include indoor play areas or shopping centres was not going to be easy. I had a look at the Mums Guide To website as they usually have good suggestions for events happening over the week-end.

Today was the second day of the Christmas Fair at Knebworth House, near Stevenage. We expected (or was hoping, I should say) something small and low-key, but when we pulled up the car park to see it full, we almost did not want to go in. But I am glad we did.

Fairy houses for the garden, handmade using clay.

Although we did not buy anything, except for a few freshly-made donuts and hot chocolate drinks, it was quite lovely to walk around the stalls and see what was available. It definitely felt very Christmassy as well!

Santa's Grotto was a very popular attraction with an hour-long queue that did not seem to get any better during the course of the day so we gave that a miss. We went to pet the reindeer though, which the kids really enjoyed!

At £5 a ticket for an adult, it was a great and inexpensive way to spend a cold and dreary Saturday.
