Mr W's Birthday Cake

We celebrated Mr Wander's birthday at home yesterday! Over the week-end, WGirl volunteered us to bake a cake for him. Baking is definitely definitely not something I do and yesterday morning, I tried to convince her that we can just buy a cake that we can decorate. Alas, she was adamant that we make it from scratch--I think it was the cracking of the eggs, the mixing and the licking of the bowl that she was after.

And so I went into the shops and bought some cake mix. Betty Crocker to the rescue! One of my friends lent me a baking tin (I don't own one!) after being amused at getting a panicked text from me.

Was it a success, one may ask? Well, it looked like a cake, it tasted like cake and it was all eaten up. So yes, I should say so!

Following Through

It is painful but it needs to be done.

Following through.

When a deal is made, ie be a good girl and you can go on a pizza date with Grandma, and it is broken, ie you misbehave, that pizza date disappears. There are tears and that guilt feeling inside you wondering if perhaps you have been too harsh. But you know you need to stand your ground and keep your end of the deal.

Following through.

It's a hard lesson to learn.

They Said What?

Me:  "Put your shoes on, we're going to preschool."
Wonder Boy: "Nooooo Mami! No want it shoes on! Want to wear my feet!"

***

Super Girl: "When I become a Mummy and G* lets me, I am going to name my baby, Poppy!"
Me:  "Why does G need to approve?"
SG:  (Rolls her eyes) "Because he's the daddy!"

*G is the 5 year old son of one of our old friends. :-)
