What we wore: Winter Warmers

Goodness me, where is time going and why is it going too quickly?! Life is a blur of work, school nativity plays and Christmas preparations at the moment. I have a backlog of blog posts in my head just waiting to come out.

These ones for now. More photos from Verona. Gosh, it feels like ages ago!

Wanderings: Verona Part I

We fell in love with Verona last year when we first visited this city as a day trip from Milan. It was in early December and we arrived on a rainy day. However, the reflection of the Christmas lights on the  wet cobbled streets seem to make the city look more romantic and festive. After only a few hours there, we knew we wanted to come back.

Thanks to Easyjet's super-cheap deals (£86 for 2 return flights!), we managed to go again a couple of weeks ago to celebrate Mr W's birthday there. Ah, it was lovely! So many photos to show, but these would have to do for now.

What we wore: Black coat and black satchel

First post from our Verona week-end trip. We had such a wonderful time! I am still going through the many travel photos so will post these for now!

As the world ogled Pippa Middleton's bottom during and after the Royal Wedding, my eyes zoomed into the grey handbag she had on the day after the wedding . After a bit of googling, I found out they were by Modalu London. While the Pippa handbag looks lush, it looked too corporate for me and wasn't really my style. I found some preloved Modalu bags on Ebay and got two of them. One is this beautiful Kensington satchel. The quality of these handbags is top-notch. The leather is buttery soft, yet feels very hard-wearing. It was just the right size for me too. I managed to fit in a small DSLR camera, a small umbrella, my purse, a couple of make-up items and few other smaller things inside.

What we wore: Winter Safari

One last post before Mr W and I go off to Italy for the week-end to celebrate his birthday. I went to a photography workshop last night and as always, I anticipated a room full of male photographers. I went a bit androgynous with a shirt that Mr W wasn't wearing anymore and was about to discard. I saved it--it's Lanvin, for crying out loud! No one gets rid of Lanvin so easily like that. Hah!

Anyway, this animal print wool coat was passed on to me by my sister-in-law. It's a size bigger than what I wear and I thought about selling it on Ebay. But after trying it on and wearing it this winter, I changed my mind. It is oh so warm and comfortable, and it actually does not look too massive on me. Another keeper!

What we wore: Black and Brown, Pink and Blue

I found this Marks & Spencer knitted jacket for about £8 at the local charity shop last year. It's actually one size bigger on me but I love the oversize collar so I got it anyway. I make it look fitted by overlapping the lapels, fastening it with one of those massive kilt pins and wearing a wide belt to cinch the waist. (And hide the pin!)

This brown suede bag is pretty special.  It is about 11 years old and it was the first gift Mr W ever gave me, when we were still dating. Now you can see why that relationship progressed! The man knew his audience!
